Of Temples and Coves

There really are moments that catch you off-guard and make you stop in awe of the universe. It just knows what you need, when you need it and how you need it.

You can’t help but realize that you are exactly where you are supposed to be, without the fanfare and complications of planning or thinking for that matter. As if the universe had planned it all along – in fact, it probably did. Like:

That breathtaking sunrise that woke you up to as it was about to peek through a Balinese temple.

The hidden cove of Green Bowl that opened you up to the Indian Ocean and let its winds carry the wonder.

The ice-cold margarita that made you want to dance at noon in the heart of Seminyak.

The unguarded moment of someone dancing on top of a temple hill as the sun was beginning to set.

And the monkey king that bowed down to the ocean.

The still moment of the ocean against a perfect sunset with a lone surfer passing by.

The majestic lotus garden that brought back important lessons from Rumi on what was beyond right and wrong.

Little reminders from the universe to never close your heart off; to take chances and to give people chances; to teach yourself lessons and be a lesson to someone else; to have fun and not overthink things; to believe in magic even if the sparks settle and disappear.

That’s what Bali was for me in July of 2015. Without much planning, I had the means to escape my overthinking brain to the island paradise because we had booked a ticket a year before. Bali lends itself to different people with different needs with some form of magic that almost always allows time to stand still and allow for healing.

Because we are exactly where we are supposed to be. Whether you booked a ticket a year ago or just the day before.
